wild and not so wild swimming

If you have never tried wild swimming, then perhaps your stay at Carry Farm is the perfect opportunity to try it out in a safe environment. The bay is shallow and sandy as the tide ebbs, and is sheltered from our prevailing south westerly winds. Tighnabruaich has a local wild swimming group, ‘The Blue Tits’, who regularly swim at Carry Farm during the summer months, and you would be warmly welcomed if you joined their dip. Join their Facebook page and they will let you know where and when they are next taking to the sea. Fiona and Derek will happily advise you on wild swimming spots as they regularly are either on or in the sea!

If wild swimming is not for you, new in 2015, the Spa and leisure facility at Portavadie is a wonderful light-filled, modern facility only ten minutes from Carry Farm. A superb infinity pool and hydro pools, tranquil treatment and relaxation spaces, sauna and a gym, provide entertainment for all the family.
