Hayshed gallery
The Hayshed Gallery is a new space for exhibiting textiles and ceramics all made at Carry Farm, by our award winning and contemporary makers. The Hebridean sheep on the land provide the textiles for Fiona to hand craft products with an enviable provenance and colourful modern designs. Hebridean sheepskins are organically tanned by using a centuries old technique and the process of shepherding the sheep, shearing and transforming the fleece into textiles, results in unique products rooted to Carry Farm.
Drey workshop squirrel away next door to the gallery, crafting distinctive pieces for the home combining their skills in ceramics and wood. Karen (Fiona’s sister) and her husband Gregor, ensure the gallery is stocked with some really beautiful and tactile pieces for the home.
Finally, our youngest maker, Eve Campbell (Fiona’s niece) graduated in Textile Design from The Glasgow School of Art in 2018 before setting up a small print studio at Carry Farm. From here she creates textiles, interpreting nature in abstract form for homes and spaces.
The gallery is open from Easter to October, 7 days a week. Out side the summer months, we would advise you always drop us a message to ensure we are around to show you in.
